GENERAL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applies to All Office Furniture:
Routine Inspections- Tighten screws, bolts, and fasteners regularly
- Check for cracks, damage, or wear
- Confirm stability and correct wobbling
- Verify overall structural integrity
- Ensure all connections are secure
- Do not exceed stated weight limits
- Distribute weight evenly across surfaces
- Include all equipment in weight calculations
- Stop use immediately
- Remove from service
- Prevent others from using until repaired or replaced
SEATING PRODUCTS – SPECIFIC WARNINGS
To reduce risk of failure or injury:
Weight Limits- Most chairs support 200–275 lbs
- Select chairs appropriate to user’s weight
- Do not exceed manufacturer’s stated limits
- Check seat and backrest for cracks
- Inspect casters and hydraulic mechanisms
ELECTRIC ADJUSTABLE DESKS/TABLES – SPECIFIC WARNINGS
Crush Hazards- Keep hands, objects, and body parts clear during adjustment
- Check clearance above and below before moving
- Do not allow children to operate controls
- Use anti-collision sensors if available
- Use only properly rated outlets
- Inspect cords for damage
- Do not modify electrical components
- Disconnect power immediately if malfunction occurs
OFFICE DESKS/TABLES – SPECIFIC WARNINGS
Stability- Ensure legs are level on the floor
- Adjust leveling feet if provided
- Do not place on uneven surfaces
STORAGE CABINETS – SPECIFIC WARNINGS
Tip-Over Prevention- Open only one drawer at a time
- Load heaviest items in lower drawers
- Anchor units over 5 ft. tall to the wall
- Do not climb or use as a ladder
- Do not store flammable materials
- Maintain at least 18" clearance from heat sources
- Ensure proper ventilation
